Reminder: Fire Restrictions are STILL in Force!

Reminder: You are NOT allowed to burn off during the Fire Danger Period The fire restrictions are still in force and this means, you are NOT allowed to burn off in the open air without a permit. Over the past couple of weeks, we have responded to numerous calls where residents are burning off during the FDP (Fire Danger Period). CFA declares the end of the FDP for each municipality (shire or council) at different times depending on the amount of rain, grassland curing rate and other local conditions. Joint Training Exercise

On Monday 24th April, Pearcedale Fire Brigade hosted a training exercise with neighbouring brigades from Casey and Westernport groups. Approximately 90 Volunteers from Tooradin Fire Brigade, Devon Meadows Fire Brigade, Warneet-Blind Bight Fire Brigade, Baxter Fire Brigade, Clyde Fire Brigade, Skye Fire Brigade, Somerville Fire Brigade and Tyabb Fire Brigade  got together at the local Pearcedale Football ground for a simulated training exercise. Pearcedale brings home Trophy

The VFBV State Rural Championships were held in Wodonga on the 1st and 2nd of April 2017. Pearcedale attended with 3 senior teams and a junior team. Our “Pearcedale B” finished 2nd overall in the State for their division, and also came home with a 1st place in the “Low Down Pump and Ladder” event. A great weekend was had by all.

14th Annual Golf Day

What an awesome day it was yesterday for our 14th Annual Golf Day. A big thank you to everyone who helped make it such a success. VicEmergency App Launched

The new VicEmergency app provides Victorians with access to warnings and incidents for fires, floods, storms, earthquake, tsunamis and water safety. The VicEmergency app replaces the FireReady app and is now available to download from the App Store or Google Play. The VicEmergency website emergency.vic.gov.au (External link) has also been upgraded and a new VicEmergency hotline released to ensure Victorians continue to receive the best possible emergency information this summer through a range of sources. Hot Fire Training

Pearcedale Fire Brigade members took the opportunity to do some live fire training using one of the mobile props. These props provide members with experience at a live fire and allow them to practice skills and learn from other members, just like at a real job. The mobile props are an invaluable tool and there are several different ones available to emulate different environments – a car, a house, a factory. The props are installed at different venues around the state, allowing even the most rural brigades to experience live fire training without having to travel for hours to their…
